We are excited to introduce a new participant to our Anniversary event. Juniata County native Connie Bowsman is a self taught artist who specializes in wood sculpture and enjoys exploring new styles and mediums.  For her sculptures, the majority of her raw materials are gathered from fallen trees and branches that she gathers from the forest and riverside.

"I find my inspiration from seeing beauty in the broken. Pretty things have dents and scratches, too. Foraged wood has amazing texture. Throw in the upcycling element, and it's a win-win situation!"
An eclectic blend of human and animal figures, Connie’s designs are as exquisite as they are unique.  In addition to her reclaimed wood pieces, Connie will bring along a sampling of her original canvas paintings, pebble art, and handcrafted jewelry.  Examples of Connie’s artwork can be found online atWoodArtByConnie.etsy.com, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Linda Rush, the artist and owner of Sands and Lace Pottery had a small town Pennsylvania Dutch upbringing. Linda was introduced to clay art and pottery while she was working as a middle school teacher and gymnastics coach in the eighties, when the art form allowed her a peaceful break.  Once she retired from teaching she was able to pursue her passion for pottery and sculpting, and so Sands and Lace was formed.  In addition to jewelry and decorative pieces-some of which even include texturing from her Grandma’s doilies- Linda creates functional stoneware finished with food safe glazes.  Currently residing in the Gulf Coast City of Sarasota, FL, Linda’s artwork is a mixture of Country/Modern with a beachy flair.   Be sure to stop by our Anniversary celebration on  August 12, 2017  to help us welcome Linda and see what Sands and Lace Pottery has to offer! One Shilling Ring Artifacts N Relics joining The Juniata Valley Winery Anniversary Event on Aug 12 Meet the artist: Artifacts N Relics We look forward to welcoming central Pennsylvania based Artifacts N Relics to our Anniversary event.  Owner and artist Mike is a former student of graphic design at Berks Technical Institute and believes that art can  provide a small escape from the real world and can make us smile, even if just for a minute.  Mike embraced his artistic side as a child and by fine-tuning his techniques and continuing to always learn new skills, he has been able to  turn his passion into a career.  His art is inspired by his raw materials: vintage and forgotten items such as coins, watch parts, ink pen nibs, and even bullet casings. He breathes new life into these often cast aside bits and pieces by turning them into one of a kind  jewelry and accoutrements.
