Ruthie's Pottery Although she is fairly new to craft and local shows/sales, Ruth Hays is no stranger to art. From the time she could pick up a pencil, she embraced her artistic side. In high school, she found she had a passion for pottery.  14 years later , and this Mifflin County native is still throwing. With the help of her supportive husband, this stay at home mom of three girls spends her spare time in her studio creating beautiful, functional pieces, including unique ceramic travel mugs. Please come out this weekend for our Anniversary event to help us welcome Ruthie’s Pottery...maybe you’ll find that perfect piece to hold whatever you want! You can also check out some of Ruthie’s wares on her Etsy page:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/ RuthiesPottery

Linda Rush, the artist and owner of Sands and Lace Pottery had a small town Pennsylvania Dutch upbringing. Linda was introduced to clay art and pottery while she was working as a middle school teacher and gymnastics coach in the eighties, when the art form allowed her a peaceful break.  Once she retired from teaching she was able to pursue her passion for pottery and sculpting, and so Sands and Lace was formed.  In addition to jewelry and decorative pieces-some of which even include texturing from her Grandma’s doilies- Linda creates functional stoneware finished with food safe glazes.  Currently residing in the Gulf Coast City of Sarasota, FL, Linda’s artwork is a mixture of Country/Modern with a beachy flair.   Be sure to stop by our Anniversary celebration on  August 12, 2017  to help us welcome Linda and see what Sands and Lace Pottery has to offer! You can also see some examples of her work on Facebook.

Rob's Wine Cork Crafts  Ah, wine corks! You know, there are always plenty around at the Juniata Valley Winery, so it seems appropriate that we welcome Rob, of Rob’s Wine Cork Crafts to our Anniversary event. Rob was first introduced to crafting by his mother, who turned her hobby into a small business. Later, when he met his mother-in-law, he embraced her love of family, wine and cooking. Inspired by the influences of these two women, Rob’s Wine Cork Crafts was born.  It started with a homemade birthday gift for his mother-in-law, and evolved into a labor of love.  Rob’s wine cork themed crafts include trivets, letters and signs, coasters and even ornaments. From his Etsy page: “While I am the chief designer and builder of my products, it has truly become a family affair. From my children helping to sort corks and clean up the piles of sawdust to my wife running "quality control", Rob’s Wine Cork Crafts are all handmade and designed through inspiration of two fa

Pound, pound, pound...what is that sound?! One of our first time vendors will be making more noise than the others this year at our Anniversary event.  We can’t wait to welcome McAlisterville’s very own resident blacksmith,  Varner’s Forge  proprietor  Rick Varner .  Rick will be bringing along some of his amazing pieces as well demonstrating his trade.  Need a dinner bell to summon the family? Or how about a unique knife?Maybe a campfire tripod?  You’ll need to to stop by to see what he brings!  While several trades deal with specialty metal working, including farriers, wheelwrights, and armorers, the blacksmith is kind of the jack of all these trades.  The blacksmith is a craftsman and an artist, able to create and repair many things, including weapons such as knives and swords, protective items like armor, and simple necessities like nails and chain.  So, stop on by, see a tradesman in action, and help us welcome Varner’s Forge to the Juniata Valley Winery.  By the way,  you Friday
